On December 24, 2021, School of Economics and Management(SEM) of Beijing Jiaotong University(BJTU) has officially received joint accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Business Graduates Association (BGA).

In 2021, SEM obtainedEQUIS (European Quality Improvement System) accreditationon February 24 and AACSB(The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditationon July 28. On December 24, with the notification of being accredited by AMBA & BGA,SEMnow is the 116th business school in the world and the 13th business school in mainland China and the 3rd business school in Beijing to get the Triple Crown accredited (AMBA, AACSB, EQUIS) business school title. Therefore, SEM has become the first business school in China to complete triple crown accreditation initial visit in the same year and one of the top 1% among the business schools in the world, which indicates that the school has reached an internationally recognition of excellence. Such achievement is a milestone for the development of the school, and presents a special gift to celebrate the 125th anniversary of BJTU.

Representing BJTU, President Wang Jiaqiong attended the meeting with the president of the AACSB peer review visit and AMBA & BGA joint accreditation visit, and Vice President Yan Xuedong attended theexternal governance meeting during the AACSB and EQUIS accreditation visit. They introduced the university respectively, and fully affirmed and supported theschool’s education quality, international development and international accreditation progress.

During the 14th Five Year Plan period, SEM will adhere to the mission of the School, and continue to carry out the strategy of integration, branding, internationalization and digitalization, and forge ahead towards the development goal of becoming the business school guiding China’s industrial development.

Introduction of three international accreditations:

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), founded in 1916, is the world-leading accreditation authority for business schools and accounting programs. At present, no more than 6% of business schools in the world have attained AACSB accreditation.

EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System), known for its comprehensive and rigorous review, is one of the most comprehensive accreditation systems in the world. At present, only2% of business schools in the world have receivedEQUIS accreditation.

AMBA (Association of MBAs) is one of the three major accreditation institutions for business education in the world. Founded in 1967, AMBA is an independent institution specializing in accreditation for MBA quality. At present, only 291 business schools in the world have obtained AMBA   accreditation. BGA accreditation is a joint accreditation project launched by AMBA in 2019.
