2022 Online Seminar for AOL Assessment by Undergraduates at the School of Economics and Management

In June 2022, as the graduating undergraduates were preparing to leave, the School of Economics and Management organized an online AOL (Assurance of Learning) Student Seminar for the Class of 2022. This seminar aimed to gather the graduates' opinions on the achievement levels of the undergraduate training objectives and enhance the overall educational quality of the school through constructive suggestions. Due to the pandemic, the seminar was conducted entirely online.

The event was hosted by Ms. Gu Lin from the International Accreditation and Strategic Planning Office of the School of Economics and Management. The main speaker was Professor Howard Davies, an international accreditation consultant from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Business School. A total of 20 undergraduate students from the Class of 2022 participated and engaged in the discussions.

The seminar was divided into three parts. The first part involved students independently assessing which of the three training objectives were most successfully met during their undergraduate studies. In the second part, the collected student evaluations were used to identify the three least achieved training objectives. The final part involved inviting students to submit suggestions for improvement regarding these objectives and engaging in live discussions.

The seminar effectively gathered direct feedback and suggestions from the undergraduate representatives regarding the achievement of the training objectives. The outcomes of this student seminar will be compiled into a report to prepare for the next AOL cycle and the continuous improvement of the undergraduate training programs.
