Vice Chairman Wu Weijun of Deloitte China appointed as a part-time professor at our school

On the morning of September 28, 2022, Beijing Jiaotong University held the appointment ceremony for a part-time professor in Conference Room 613 of the Siyuan Building. Mr. Wu Weijun, Vice Chairman of Deloitte China and Managing Partner of China's Financial Services Industry, was appointed as a part-time professor at Beijing Jiaotong University. President Wang Jiaqiong officiated the appointment ceremony and presented a letter of appointment. Vice Chairman Wu Weijun was awarded ACCA qualification in 1992 and became the first person in ACCA in Chinese Mainland. He participated in and led the design of the "Bank Reform Roadmap" that suits China's national conditions, helping China's financial industry clarify the direction of reform.

President Wang Jiaqiong, on behalf of the school, warmly welcomed Vice Chairman Wu Weijun's appointment as a part-time professor at Beijing Jiaotong University and presented him with an appointment letter. President Wang Jiaqiong hoped that Vice Chairman Wu Weijun would provide strong support for talent cultivation and scientific research in the school in the future, and promote the construction and development of economic related majors and disciplines in our school.

Vice Chairman Wu Weijun expressed that he is very honored to become a part-time professor at Beijing Jiaotong University. In the future, he would actively participate in the work of the school and the School of Economics and Management in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other aspects, promoting comprehensive and deep cooperation between Deloitte and Beijing Jiaotong University, strengthening resource coordination in work internships and training exchanges between foreign universities. He was willing to provide relevant suggestions for research decision-making and construction directions for the school and the School of Economics, working together to build an economic powerhouse.

Vice Chairman Wu Weijun donated six books to our school library, including "The Eye of Capital", "Preface to Accounting Development and Banking Reform", as well as translated works such as "Professionalism", "Trusted Advisor", "Management of Professional Service Firms", and "Essentials of Banking Management". Principal Wang Jiaqiong accepted the book presented by Chairman Wu on behalf of the school and presented a donation certificate to him. Li Jin, Audit and Assurance Partner of Deloitte China's Financial Services Industry, Shi Xianliang, Dean of the School of Economics and Management and Director of the Social Science Department, Li Menggang, Dean of the National Institute of Economic Security, and Li Juan, Vice Dean, attended the appointment ceremony.

Wu Weijun, Vice Chairman of Deloitte China, Leading Partner in the Financial Services Industry, Part-time Researcher at the Finance and Development Research Center of the National Institute of Finance at Tsinghua University, and Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Public Accountants (ACCA), was the first professional accountant in mainland China to obtain the Chartered Certified Public Accountant (ACCA) qualification in the UK, and served as the ACCA Global Director from 2004 to 2010. He is also a member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Wu Weijun graduated from Hangzhou Business School in 1985 with a bachelor's degree and then graduated from the University of International Business and Economics in 1988 with a master's degree. In 2018, he served as a visiting researcher at the Finance and Development Research Center of the National Institute of Finance at Tsinghua University, where he studied relevant issues related to China's banking and financial system reform, and summarize China's experience in accounting development and banking reform accumulated over the past 40 years of reform and opening up. He also serves as a part-time professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Xiamen National Accounting College, Zhejiang University School of Management, and the University of International Business and Economics.
