On October 21, 2022, the opening ceremony of the Doctorate in Business Administration program of the Ministry of Commerce was held in a combination of online and offline methods. The offline ceremony was held in Conference Room 821, Siyuan East Building, Beijing Jiaotong University. Liu Yanqing, Dean of the School of International Education, Vice Dean Tan Jie and Liu Xiaofang, Shi Xianliang, Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Guo Ming, Vice Secretary and Vice Dean, Shang Xiaopu, Vice Dean, and Liu Yingqi, Director of the Department of Enterprise Management, attended the opening ceremony. 14 students, teachers and teaching assistants from countries along the the Belt and Road participated online. The class opening ceremony was presided over by Shang Xiaopu.

The Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Shi Xianliang, first welcomed all the students of the 2022 PhD program in Business Administration on behalf of the School of Economics and Management of Beijing Jiaotong University, and gave an overall introduction to the school. Dean Shi hopes that students can actively utilize the school's resources to enrich themselves and reap a wonderful life for doctoral students at Beijing Jiaotong University.

The Dean of the School of International Education, Liu Yanqing, introduced the history of the cultivation of international students in our school and wished all students a systematic and in-depth understanding of management knowledge, a broad understanding of the latest developments in relevant international fields, and the use of the latest research results to creatively solve important practical problems in the upcoming learning period.

Liu Yingqi, the director of the Department of Enterprise Management, introduced the teaching team and training plan of the PhD program in Business Administration to the attendees, and also put forward the requirements and expectations for learning to the students.

BAFA TESFAYE AGAFARI from Ethiopia made a speech on behalf of the student representatives, expressing sincere gratitude to the Chinese government and schools for their support on this study, and highly praised China's international influence and positive measures taken in the construction of the the Belt and Road.

Finally, all attendees took a group photo through online screenshots. With the active participation and high enthusiasm of all teachers and classmates, the opening ceremony of the 2022 Business Administration Doctorate Program of the Ministry of Commerce has come to a successful conclusion.

In recent years, the School of Economics and Management has attached great importance to the work related to international students and has undertaken nearly one-third of the training tasks for international students in our school. Our school undertakes the "Ministry of Commerce Advanced Diploma Education Special Program" of the National Council for International Students, which is a doctoral program in business administration in English. This is the first doctoral program of the Ministry of Commerce Advanced Diploma Education Special Program in our school's history, and we recruited foreign students to pursue doctoral degrees under a project-based system. The project has undergone multiple rounds of interviews and assessments, and the first batch of 14 foreign doctoral students who have registered and enrolled in the program began studying for a PhD in Business Administration this autumn semester.
