On April 21, 2023, the School of Economics and Management, led by Dean Shi Xianliang, had a fruitful encounter with China Railway Material and Trade Group Co., Ltd. The rendezvous, orchestrated by alumnus Huang Huaipeng, Deputy Secretary and Vice Chairman of the Enterprise Party Committee, delved into realms of collaboration encompassing talent development, joint research initiatives, and more. Steering the symposium was Chang Xuan, an esteemed alumnus holding significant roles within the Material and Trade Group.

Kicking off the exchange, Huang Huaipeng extended a warm welcome to the academic delegation, expressing gratitude for the invaluable support the college has rendered to China Railway Material and Trade Group. Reflecting on the longstanding partnership, he emphasized the need to further enrich the strategic cooperation between the corporation and Beijing Jiaotong University. Huang envisioned a symbiotic relationship fostering innovation and propelling the enterprise toward its goal of becoming an "international first-class leading enterprise in the construction industry supply chain integration service."

In response, Shi Xianliang conveyed appreciation for the enduring support from China Railway Material and Trade Group, providing insights into the college's recent achievements. Acknowledging the instrumental role of alumni, Shi highlighted the college's growth across various dimensions and expressed aspirations for continued collaboration. The college, deeply rooted in business education, aligns its objectives with national strategies and industrial development, particularly in sectors like transportation, modern logistics, finance, information technology, and more. Shi envisioned a collaborative journey, nurturing innovation at the intersection of industry, academia, and research for mutual growth.

 

Zhang Xinying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the college, shed light on the college's talent cultivation and student engagement initiatives. Proposing collaborative activities such as Enterprise Activity Week and Second Classroom, she emphasized the college's commitment to supporting alumni and their enterprises.

 

The subsequent discussions between the two parties touched upon diverse areas, resulting in a consensus on cooperation spanning the signing of agreements, talent development, establishment of internship bases, mutual recruitment of experts, and collaborative scientific research.

The exchange meeting saw the participation of Tong Xifei, Director of the Supply Chain Innovation Research Center at China Railway Material and Trade Group, alongside representatives from various departments. Notable attendees from the School of Economics and Management included Gou Juanqiong, a professor at the Information Management Department, Lan Hongjie, a professor at the Logistics Management Department, Huang Anqiang, an associate professor, and officials from the Employment Guidance and Alumni Development Center and EDP Center.
