A piece of great news comes with the new semester. The Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) met on February 9-10, 2018 and voted to accept the initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER) submitted on December 29th , which represents an important achievement of the SEM in AACSB accreditation.
On February 2-3, 2016, the Eligibility Application of the SEM has been approved by the AACSB IAC and appointed Prof. Chiang Yi-chein, Taiwan Feng Chia University as the mentor. The approval was the sign of the beginning of AACSB accreditation of the SEM. With the guidance of Prof. Chiang, a thorough self-evaluation was developed, and the updating of faculty academic vitae and construction of Assurance of Learning (AoL) system have been carried out in accordance with the standards of AACSB accreditation.
In early 2017, the iSER Writing Team has been set up with Associate Dean Hua Guowei as the leader, 15 teachers as members, Accreditation and Planning Office coordinating and the administrative staffs of the SEM participating. The final-versions submitting of iSER went through several discussions and revises, translation and proofreading. In the meantime, Prof. Chiang came to the School 3 times for guidance.
The successfully pass of the iSER should firstly give great thanks to the leaders and faculty of the SEM for their support for the AACSB accreditation and hope for their further guidance and assistance of the faculty and students. In accordance with the requirements of AACSB accreditation, an iSER Update Report shall be submitted at the end of 2018. In order to successfully finished the iSER Update Report, more efforts should be paid in AoL construction of all of the Degree Programs, updating of the faculty academic achievements, as well as the improvements according with the feedback suggestions of IAC.
Obtaining the international accreditation of the business school at an early date is the common wish of the faculty and students of the SEM, which is closely connected with great endeavors and selfless dedication of our faculty and students. We firmly believe that the international accreditation work during the 13th Five-Year Planning will be accomplished with great achievements.
