Alliance of Belt and Road Business Schools Is Established in Harbin Institute of Technology with Our School as Founding Member

On August 26th, 2017, Alliance of Belt and Road Business Schools(shortened as ABRBS), with our school as founding member, is established in Harbin Institute of Technology. 28 deans of reputed universities and expert scholars from 20 countries and regions have attended the opening ceremony, including Professor Zhang Qiusheng, our dean and meanwhile the representative of School of Economics and Management, Beijing Jiaotong University(SEM, BJTU) as one founding members, studying the frontier issues of national and international production capacity cooperation along the Silk Road.

Inaugural Meeting of Alliance of Belt and Road Business Schools and Silk Road International Production Capacity Cooperation High-Level Conference is organized by ABRBS and hosted by School of Management, Harbin Institute of Technology(SOM, HIT). The inauguration is witnessed by National Development and Reform Commission, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Ministry of Commerce and the main business school leaders from more than 20 countries and regions. The meeting includes the secretariat opening ceremony of ABRBS and the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation of international production capacity between Chinese enterprises and Chinese enterprises and universities at home and abroad. The 28 school deans of ABRBS have hold a private session as well for exchanging their views of the development prospect, work goals and cooperation opportunities in the background of Belt and Road Initiative, planing to increase the members of ABRBS to cover at least 60 countries, cooperate on education projects as well as promote and implement relevant issues through ABRBS connections and business school platforms.

In the International Advisory Committee meeting held in this April, SEM, BJTU, together with the attending members, have proposed to form ABRBS. In June, in the annual meeting of Alliance of Chinese & European Business Schools(ACE) hosted by Rotterdam School of Management in Netherlands, SEM, BJTU has discussed in depth with SOM, HIT about the concerns of foundation, development prospect, aims and operation mechanism. The other domestic initiators of ABRBS are: School of Management of Xiamen University, School of Management and Economics of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, School of Management of Northwestern Polytechnical University, School of Business of East China University of Science and Technology, School of Management of Guangzhou University and School of Economics and Management of NingXia University.
